Olympic Vac-Pacs have been used for more than 40 years in thousands of hospitals for improved surgical positioning.Vac-Pacs are made of a soft, polyvinyl outer layer filled with thousands of tiny plastic beads. The Vac-Pac is molded around a patient, then a suction line is attached to the special valve. As a vacuum is created, atmospheric pressure forces the beads together in the exact molded shape. When the suction line is disconnected, the Vac-Pac retains this molded shape. After surgery, the valve is opened and the Vac-Pac becomes soft, ready for use again.
