The Module Rail Unit is a component of patient monitor displays, which is used to monitor different parameters of the patient. It can be supported by main voltage with an integrated AC/DC power supply unit or can also be battery powered. It supports two optional multi-parameter hemodynamic modules; Patient Data Module (PDM) and Patient Side Module (PSM). The module rail unit connects to the CPU carrier board. It provides interfaces for PSM and PDM. The PSM/PDM is connected to the patient monitor by aligning it with the insertion guides of the module rail unit on the back of the monitor. The unit comes with mounting screws and is mounted on the rear end of CPU unit. The connector for the rail unit is aligned exactly with the connector in the CPU board. This allows easy handling and portability of the components, which enables easy removability and replaceability of the parts from the assembly. This particular part is being used in many medical machines such as MS PDM and CARESCAPE™ B450.
