LOWER OPERATOR PANEL

Product Overview

The lower operator panel withbflow comes as a part of the ichiro, a medical diagnostic ultrasound imaging system. The ichiro operator panel is a complex user interaction device with several sub devices. This includes a trackball with buttons, an alphanumeric keyboard, a custom keyboard, and a touch panel overlay. See the diagram below for a simplified view of how these devices are interconnected. A display interface for the touch screen video will have its own usb line. The a/n keyboard is a standard windows usb keyboard, and similarly the trackball with the buttons implemented as a standard windows usb mouse. The custom keyboard is the main controller for the operating panel. It interfaces all of the additional rotaries, push buttons, potentiometers, etc. It also connects to the touch panel overlay and handles the push events from this. Additionally the custom keyboard also interfaces the trackball buttons. These buttons generate events for both the trackball device and the custom keyboard. The trackball has two select buttons. For the trackball device these are seen as the left and right mouse button, but to the custom keyboard these two buttons have two distinct ids. The on/off button has similar design as it provides hard wired on/off control to the ultrasound system processor but also interfaces to the custom keyboard with a distinct id.
