The Source Image Distance (SID) Sensor Board is used in the XT suspension, for detecting the position of the X-ray tube for auto collimation and interlocks. The board consists of 5 hall effect sensors. It is used to measure the magnitude of the magnetic field. The magnets actuate the hall sensors on the circuit board as the XT suspension is moved about the room. It is specially used for positioning, speed detection and current sensing applications. This board finish is really helpful to the PCB, which does not allow the PCB to suffer from yellow or black discoloration which will indicate contamination. It is also a flame resistant and possess good electrical and mechanical properties. All these properties help to ensures z long-life span for the circuit board.
