This Split Ring Lock Washer is made up of stainless steel with a passivated finish. Stainless steels are iron-based alloys which contain a minimum of chromium of around 10.5%. The presence of chromium offers corrosion resistance to stainless steel and helps to resist scaling at elevated temperatures. It also maintains the excellent toughness, with this passivation finish that maximizes the its corrosion resistance. This washer is being used in many anesthesia machines in medical field such as Maternal-Infant Care Giraffe™ OmniBed, Giraffe™ OmniBed, ARC Aespire 7900 and Maternal-Infant Care Panda™ iRES Warmer, among others. A washer is a thin plate with a hole that is normally used to distribute the load of a threaded fastener, such as a bolt or nut.
