Peep/inspiratory Calibration Tool is known as calibration orifice tool, which is used for measuring the fluid flow rate. It is a small aperture through which the fluid passes and the flow rate is measured using the pressure differential transducer. The thickness of orifice in the direction of flow is small when compared to other side dimension. This calibration tool is being used in Aestiva anesthesia machine volume monitoring section. In volume monitoring a pressure differential transducer measure the pressure on each side of a variable flow orifice. This pressure differential equates to the velocity of the gas passing through the orifice. And this orifice has been made up of Aluminum 6061-T651 ((solutionized, stress-relieved stretched and artificially aged), which has a composition of magnesium and silicon as its majority alloying elements. It has good mechanical properties, exhibits good weldability, and is very commonly extruded. The other applications of this calibration tools are ARC Airway Gas Module, Maternal-Infant Care Giraffe™ OmniBed, ARC Aespire 7900, MS DASH 4000 and ARC Aisys anesthesia devices.
