The thickness of orifice in the direction of flow is small when compared to other side dimension. This calibration tool is being used in Aestiva anesthesia machine volume monitoring section. In volume monitoring a pressure differential transducer measure the pressure on each side of a variable flow orifice. This pressure differential equates to the velocity of the gas passing through the orifice. And this orifice has been made up of Aluminum 6061-T651 ((solutionized, stress-relieved stretched and artificially aged), which has a composition of magnesium and silicon as its majority alloying elements. It has good mechanical properties, exhibits good weldability, and is very commonly extruded.
