A proportional valve allows immeasurable positioning of spools hence providing immeasurable adjustable flow volumes. The various speeds are attained by changing the electrical signal level to get the required flow. All wetted materials in the valve utilize materials that are FDA and/or USP class III (or higher) registration. All wetted materials in the valve are compatible with Oxygen at 100%. The valve is designed to operate for a minimum 10-year life period (25,000 hours) in a dry medical air or Oxygen environment without service. The expected number of cycles during this period is 12,000,000 OFF/On/OFF cycles, based on a 480 cycle per hour rate. The inlet port of the valve houses a stainless steel sintered woven, wire mesh square weave filter capable of filtering 150 micron particles.
