The Seal U-cup is used in the bellows assembly of the anesthesia delivery system. The part should be clean, which is free of grease, oil, mold release, dust, lint or other obvious contamination. U-cups are a lip seal, that has a cross-section that is a “U” shape. The system pressure increases, the force on the loading lips automatically compensates for the higher pressure, thus maintaining a positive seal.
